Under the tutelage of professional ceramic artists, architects, graphic
designers and in partnership with Operation Design a 501c3, students,
faculty and volunteers of this “green school” will unveil a massive
ceramic tile installation in the school’s lobby in June 2012, after
nearly six months of preparation, in-class curriculum and after school
workshops.
Operation Design’s THE DOORS Project is a collaboration between the Keystone Design Union
and local New York City high school students, sponsored by SUSHISAMBA®
Operation
Design’s NYED initiative, originated from the belief that great design
creates a better environment for learning. With meaningful
architect-to-student interaction, we are inspiring and challenging
young people from New York City public schools to put their creativity
and love for design and architecture to practical and important use.
